Cost of installation can vary quite a bit depending what type of equipment is being installed, where it is being installed and if there are any special requirements needed. As an example, a small two ton unit being installed in a garage next to the driveway where the air handler is in the garage on an existing platform and the condensing unit sits right next to the garage on the ground would be on the less expensive side, where as a five ton unit in a high rise building with the condensing unit being lifted to the roof with a crane and the air handler is in an attic would be an installation towards the higher range. There are also many other variables to be taken into consideration that can be discussed when looking at the individual installation. The price range can be as low as $750 and can reach as high as $3,000.
